Receiving My Endowments!!!

(Journal entry… March 31st, 2015)

While receiving one’s endowments is truly personal and the covenants which one makes in the temple are also very sacred, I wrote in my journal the day of receiving my endowments in preparatory to serving a mission in Mexico.

On March 31st, 2015 I had the opportunity to go through the temple for the first time. I understood more fully why the brethren encourage us to go as frequently as possible.

I received my endowments in the Logan, Utah temple. The temple is all symbolic, the things we learn are found in scripture, I have been truly blessed to have been raised in the home I was. Little did I know it, but my mother has been preparing me for this day since I was little. It was so nice to go to the temple (kind of expecting to be confused) and come out not feel confused or lost because I was prepared.

Those of my siblings that are over the age of 12 years old were able to attend the temple for baptisms for the dead while I was inside. (My poor youngest brother is 11 and stayed the whole time outside and in the car… he’s such a good guy!!) I am so grateful for family members that are worthy to enter the Lord’s house!! We had so much fun!

I am truly thankful for the temple and the feeling of the Spirit I feel when I attend. There are safeguards and true blessings from taking some time out of our busy schedules to visit the Lord’s House, those blessings follow us even outside of the temple walls.

Soon to be Hermana Ashby
